HANDWOVEN IKAT SAREES | TANEIRA
The project focuses on re-imagining the vocabulary of traditional Pochampalli lkats through a collection of contemporary sarees. The primary objective is to create a visually disruptive design language that encourages patronage towards the craft, thus providing consistent employment and financial stability to the artisans of Pochampalli.
The Pochampalli cluster, with its restricted motif language can do the following shapes with perfection. The collection works around recomposing these forms to create unique pieces which are easy to replicate.
